About Adam and Eve

Once again I am in China. This time for nearly two months. And this time I am much more aware of the unbelievable level of pollution. One day, when in Guangzhou we could see the sun shining through the haze of pollution like a bright red soccer ball. I was very much reminded of those doomsday movies I had watched when I was a young man. The end of the world….or at least of civilisation as we know it.

And then I thought about how it all started. The Paradise… that beautiful and unpolluted place. Adam and Eve…and I realised that there was a ‘natural’ progression from ‘good’ to ‘bad’…and that things would get worse before people started to wake up and become aware again of their ‘pure origins’.

Let us have another look at the ‘creation’ of this material Universe.

In the beginning there was singular energy only. No need for duality. But if we want to experience a material Universe we have to have electrons and protons, atoms, molecules and so on. We have to have duality.

Yin and Yang, negative and positive, man and woman, Adam and Eve.

When Adam and Eve lived in harmony with the singularity (God) everything was at ‘ease’. They did not have to worry about food because that was growing into their mouths…and they did not need to worry about anything else since they lived in Paradise where everything was provided free of charge and everyone, including the animals, lived in peace and harmony. But one day the ‘humans’ became clever….they started to think….ate from the ‘tree of knowledge’ as the bible is telling us. The more they thought, the more they lost that perfect harmony with ‘God’ or the singular ‘creator’, nature, the law or whatever else we want to call IT…which is beyond the capacity of the human mind (lost in materiality) to comprehend. The ‘ease’ they had enjoyed was slowly taken over by ‘dis-ease’.

As mankind ‘developed’ the dis-ease became greater and greater….until today we have reached a point where we have a seemingly endless number of diseases.

Some of these diseases we call ‘chronic’ diseases and the clever human mind does not seem to be able to find any ‘cure’ for these diseases. That mind does not seem to be able to help mankind back to ‘ease’ again, back to that promising paradisaical life.

It would be easy to blame international drug companies for the ever increasing number of new diseases but that would not be entirely true. Certainly as we descent more and more into the material world and materialism we become more and more greedy, but the reality is that the kind of material thinking which leads to more and more ‘dis-ease’ is shared by most people on planet earth. Very few escape the general trend and find ‘ease’ within themselves. Within their own heart. The seat, as it is said, of the singularity or God.

God, it is said, cannot be found in the humdrum of a noisy world but only in the stillness of our own heart. And it is also said that it is that stillness in which we can heal ourselves.

One evening my wife Yin and I were invited to dinner by Professor Mo and his wife. Professor Mo, a Western trained specialist for diseases of the nervous system, related how he ‘eased’ his physical problems. He was very sick and even Western medicine could not help him. One day he decided to use an old and traditional method to help himself….he started to meditate. Within a relatively short period of time he had ‘eased’ his body back to health and never looked back.

When we had lunch with Dr. Lee, a heart specialist again trained in Western medicine, I was absolutely amazed how much she knew about traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbs and teas and other things. I realised that Chinese people had a very long history of medicine and that that old medicine was still part of their way of thinking and ‘being’. Something similar I had experienced in the ‘old’ European countries. But in the ‘new’ countries America and Australia a new and more ‘scientific’ approach to health and healing has replaced the old approach. Unfortunately also a more materialistic thinking has taken hold where the health of individuals has become a big business….has become just another business.

Interestingly, when we care to look at health statistics, this ‘modern’ and ‘scientific’ approach to health and happiness does not appear to be very effective. America and Australia are ‘world leaders’ in such chronic diseases as cancer, heart diseases, diabetes and so on.

The other day I had a chat with my wife about cells, genetics, the ‘Pischinger Ground System' and other things. Yin is a lecturer for cell biology and genetics at the Guangxi Medical University here in Nanning. What we both agreed upon is that cells are ‘individuals’ with a ‘life cycle’ …birth and death. And just like any individual they have to be supplied with the right information (nerve and other messages), food, water, oxygen etc. They produce ‘rubbish’ like every human being does. This rubbish has to be eliminated through the lymph system. The entire system of supply and rubbish removal can break down if the cell surrounding is over burdened with ‘pollution’. Waste acids can accumulate and many other ‘chemical’ substances. Cells become disoriented and ‘dis-eased’. The blueprint for cell repair and renewal can become distorted. ‘Things’ are starting to go ‘wrong’.

One way of ‘fixing’ the problem, one would think, is the removal of the extra rubbish and making sure that individual cells are supplied with everything they need for proper functioning.

But ‘drug’ therapy (or ‘Western’ medicine) developed the strange attitude of poring even more ‘rubbish’ into the system in form of potent chemical substances. It is the typical ‘human’ approach to solving a problem: kill, burn, slash….

Well….once again…disease statistics show that something does not seem to work in accordance with that human way of thinking. Nature simply cannot be beaten into submission and will always win in the end.

What I realised was that ‘Westernised’ and highly educated people in China still could be in touch with nature and their own heart. I hope that they will never loose that ability as we have done to a large degree in the Western world.

Finally I would like to share with you excerpts from an article I found here in China. The article is supporting my view on metals and hence is pleasing to my ego. Nevertheless, if it helps some people to become more deeply aware of a major problem facing mankind in form of ionic metals and especially transition metals then it is serving a worthwhile purpose.

Chalcosis is an eye disease associated with the presence of copper particles. The intra-ocular copper particles can produce a 50% loss of permanent retinal cell function in 2 days (Schmidt et al. 1987). Although the pathogenesis of chalcosis remains unclear, it is generally believed that it is due to free radicals attack. The retina is constantly exposed to a generous vascular oxygen supply and continuous bombardment of photons.

The high content of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in the retina renders it susceptible to oxidative insult (Anderson & Maude 1970). Copper is a transition metal that can react with hydrogen peroxide molecules to form highly reactive hydroxyl free radicals through the Fenton-type reaction. Under this environment, the oxidation of PUFAs (Schoneich et al. 1992) is accelerated by a self-perpetuating chain formation of lipid peroxide radicals, ROOO (De La Paz & Anderson 1992). Structural changes resulting from oxidative damage can seriously compromise the normal enzymatic activity (Pigeolet & Remacle 1991), membrane fluidity (Garcia et al. 1997), ionic transport (Edward et al. 1991), plus other physiological activities.

N-acetyl-serotonin (NAS) is a newly identified anti-oxidant by virtue of either hydrogen donation (Barsacchi et al. 1998) or free radical scavenging (Longoni et al. 1997). NAS is naturally produced in the retina (Privat et al. 1999) and it is capable of protecting the retinal lipid peroxidation in vitro (Siu et al. 1999). This study aimed to investigate the oxidative retinal cell damages induced by copper (I) ions. The anti-oxidative capacity of NAS was also quantified compared with a wellknown antioxidant, vitamin E.

I hope that you keep on testing for ionic metals and that you may help your own body and others to get rid of that thread to health and happiness.

Best wishes from Nanning, China.
