Alkalinity
and
Acidity
and how they affect our health
I
want to be very careful in what I am saying. You see, like with so many things in life nobody is quite clear what different things really mean….and what they mean for one person they may not mean
for everyone else..
So let me tell you first what I ‘mean' by alkalinity and acidity.
Alkalinity is the opposite to acidity. Acidity means a ‘low pH' which in turn can be classified as an excess of protons and a lack of electrons. Alkalinity to me means a ‘high pH' or an excess of electrons.
You know that protons and electrons make up atoms. A ‘balanced' atom has the same amount of protons as it has electrons. When such an atom ‘gains' or ‘loses' electrons it becomes ‘unbalanced' and electrically charged.
Electrons are negatively charged and protons are positively charged.
In the simplest atom, a hydrogen atom, you find one proton (p + ) and one electron (e - ).
The atom
is in
balance.
If the hydrogen atom loses an electron it becomes a ‘hydrogen ion' and is now positively charged…….because the positive proton does not have a negative electron to keep it in ‘charge balance'. Can you see ?
We will not go deeper into that here…may it suffice to say that once atoms go out of balance….you go out of balance as well.
If we have too many protons on their own the body becomes ‘sour'. Sour (written ‘sauer') means ‘acid' in the German language. In the English language there is a saying: ‘she is a real ‘sour puss'. We can say: ‘acid body….acid mind'. What we found is that by alkalising the body, by ‘sweetening the body' the mind becomes ‘sweeter' as well.
But back to the protons….the more ‘single' protons there are (they hate not having a partner of opposite charge….a bit like people themselves) the more acid the medium becomes.
At a pH of 7.0 you will find the same amount of electrons as protons. But at a pH of 6.0 that relationship has changed 10 times in favour of the proton…and at a pH of 5.0 the balance has tipped 100 times in favour of the proton. We have tested people with a pH of 4.5 and below!
At a pH of 8.0 the body is 10 times out of balance in favour of electrons. At a pH of 9.0 it is 100 times out of balance and so on. Due to modern life styles (stress), eating habits (fast), the kind of food we eat and the things we drink (coffee, alcohol, and so on) most people are highly over acid today.
How can anyone believe that a system which 10 times or 100 times out of balance will react to ‘remedial measures' in the same way as a system which is in perfect balance???
And I believe that this is where many remedial measures
'fail'. Take chelation as one example. Chelation simply does
not work well in an acid environment. Hence one person
experiences a fantastic healing result (because the body is
alkaline) and another person may tell you it is a total waste
of money (because his body may have been acidic).
Here is the problem with the ‘average person'.
The ‘average person' (I have never met such an ‘animal' on any of my many travels and after meeting thousands of people) should have a blood (and tissue) pH of between 7.35 and 7.44. It is well known and accepted that the ‘individual person' going out of that range will get quite ill. At a level of 7.2 you will be ill…and
if the blood pH drops below 7.0 you will be dead. Blood pH is
so important that is is one of the first things addressed in
intensive care.
The proton/electron balance is the ‘first balance in the material Universe' and as such immensely important…but how many MD's and alternative health practitioners do you find testing for pH as a matter of importance or urgency? They overlook the first balance and hence everything else they are doing is like trying to build a healthy house on a sick foundation.
When we ‘alkalise' the body we are introducing electrons and bring back the balance between the electrons and protons. One way of doing that is with ‘alkaline water' (which lately appeared on the market as the ‘answer to all of mankind's ills'), alkaline forming foods (see acid/alkaline food lists) and alkalising beverages. When the balance is greatly out of ‘whack' desperate measures have to be taken.
One
such measure is taking bicarbonate of soda. Bicarb is an electron donor (can give away electrons without becoming a ‘free radical' itself) and electron acceptor. It is a ‘natural balancer' or as it is called more ‘scientifically' a ‘buffer'. The reason for my suggestion is that clear need for balance once again.
Please note…..if we have too many electrons which stop all free radicals then the ‘bugs' or bacteria may eat us alive.
Free radicals are an essential part of our immune system. If we do not have that important part of the immune system we can develop most of the diseases we wanted to prevent in the first place by taking ‘anti oxidants' (which are all ‘electron donors').
You SEE, nature is all about balance and harmony.
Now, bicarb on its own is not such a good idea either!
It tastes terrible and will dilute digestive juices in the stomach
and hence it certainly should not be taken shortly before or
after meals. If we cannot digest our proteins well, we also cannot produce amino acids. If we cannot produce amino acids we cannot ‘chelate' metals! If we cannot chelate metals they remain ionic….and if they are ionic (electrically charged) they ‘stick to the body like hair sticks to the balloon'. It is a very similar electric charge which makes them ‘build up' in our body until they reach ‘toxic levels'. At the same time these electrically charged metals increase the production of free radicals a million-fold. The interested reader may want to read up on the ‘metal mediated Fenton reaction' which explains why and how ionic metals produce avalanches of free radicals.
The other problem with a bad protein metabolism is increased acidity.
Because of the fact that bicarb can cause that problem we recommend that we mix it with citric acid. Similar to bicarbonate of soda (which is produced by the human pancreas), citric acid is a ‘natural' and is being used in the ‘Krebs cycle' (energy production) or ‘Citric Acid cycle'.
If we mix bicarb and citric acid properly (a little bit more bicarb than citric acid) its pH will be roughly 7.0. This means it does not interfere with digestion and still ‘alkalises' the body.
Wow…acid makes the body more alkaline? How can that be?
Well, all fruit acids have an ‘alkaline ash', i.e. when the body ‘burns' up the fruit it turns into an alkali.
Here is how you can prove to yourself that this is correct:
measure your urine pH and note it down
take 1 teaspoon of bicarb and one teaspoon of citric acid and mix that in ½ glass of water (if you want to be more ‘scientific' you can measure the pH of the mix and adjust it as closely as possible to 7.0)…or take a teaspoon full of our ‘Alkalizer'.
now drink the mixture and wait for ,say, 15 minutes.
take a new urine sample and measure….you will SEE that the pH has become more alkaline!! Shifted towards ‘more electrons'.
Your body has become ‘sweeter' and hopefully your mind will be sweeter as well.
This ‘sweeter body' is now more in balance and harmony and the best doctor in the world, your own body (Hippocrates, ‘father of modern medicine') can now begin with the job of healing yourself.
This is how simple it is. Please do not ever forget that ‘God is simple….only man makes everything so
terribly complicated'.
If you really still don't know where human cleverness and complication leads us, then have a look around yourself. Have a look at health and disease statistics and at
our planet Earth as a whole.
People and the planet are getting sicker by the day.
It is high time to introduce more ‘divine' balance and harmony again.
On a simpler note: if you want to live a longer and healthier life – alkalise!
Do it NOW. FEEL the difference.
Please have a look at the following web sites dealing
with our topic of alkalinity.

If you look around on the internet there are
many more articles available….but this may suffice to get you going and really interested in the topic.
Our‘Alkalizer' will help people to quickly change pH…..and you can SEE it. Depending on the buffering (especially the amount of bicarbonate available
which is responsible for ‘buffering') a change in (urine) pH can be seen 10 to 20 minutes after taking a teaspoon full of Alkalizer . The Alkalizer contains citric acid, sodium bicarbonate and magnesium (bicarbonate) in a very balanced form…..even tastes ok.
Kind regards,
Hans
